  • The reform will affect the security system in the seaports

The USPA said that in 2018, the security system in seaports will be optimized in order to build transparent processes, save state funds and eliminate corruption.

The security company, which will be responsible for ensuring the regime of stay in seaports, will be selected through a tender in the Prozorro system.

The responsibilities of the winning company will include attracting qualified personnel, whose reputation does not raise questions. Employees of the port security teams will be certified and then employed by the company that won the tender.

As a reminder, the cargo turnover in the seaports of Ukraine last year preserved a positive trend: for 12 months, 132.9 million tons of cargo were handled, which is 0.9% more than in 2016

Reference: USPA is a state-owned enterprise founded in 2013, overseeing the work of thirteen ports of Ukraine.
